plotting data vs time

Hi all,

This may seem like a simple question, but is there any way to plot data vs
time using R? I have tried several things, none of which worked. What I want
is a line graph to show, say, a percentage on the y-axis and dates/times on
the x-axis. Any help you could give would be appreciated - am I missing
something obvious?

Thanks,

?plot.POSIXt, for example gives two examples. plot(x, y) just works if
x is from a date-time class.

Make that

     example(plot.POSIXct)

(i.e. ct not t)
