I have not been able to install R on my computer. I am using a Linux Mandrake 7.2. What is the archive I have to download? where is it located? How can I install it after downloaded? R is one of the best documented software i know. If you start reading at http://www.r-project.org with the FAQ etc I don't think there will be much questions left (regarding installing). Peter

Download the sources, e.g. the file R-1.2.2.tgz from http://cran.r-project.org/src/base In the same directory there are the files README and INSTALL ... You could simply download the mandrake rpm from http://www.CRAN.r-project.org/bin/linux/mandrake/7.2/ and install it with
rpm -i R-base-1.2.2-1.mdk.7.2.i586.rpm
