R on Android

Hello again

I tried to do everything how described on the page:

http://rwiki.sciviews.org/doku.php?id=getting-started:installation:android

So, i pushed the three files in the folder /sdcard/gcc
Then i tried to extract the files with an android terminal with the
commands:

cd /sdcard/gcc
tar xjf android_gcc_r2a.tar.bz2
tar xjf android_gcc_supplement.tar.bz2
tar xjf android_R_r1a2.tar.bz2

But that didn't work. It says:

tar: not found

So i downloaded Archidroid and extract the files with this programm and that
worked.

Well now i have in the folder /sdcard/gcc a lot of other folders, in fact:

arm-elf-linux-androideabi
bin
include
lib
libexec
R
share
tmp

I tried then the following commands in the terminal:

export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/sdcard/gcc/lib
export PATH=$PATH:/data/sdcard/gcc/bin

But this also didn't work. Here it says nothing, nothing happened.

So my problem is, i have all the folders and data i need (well i think i
have all), but i don't know how i can install them or run R.

I might be misunderstanding your question, but I assume you've run

./configure --without-recommended-packages && make

to actually do the build? Likely in that R directory to find the
config and makefiles.

Or, you could have gotten yourself a copy of the tar program....

Nothing is supposed to, that just sets a couple of variables.

What happens if you say 

bin/R

from the sdcard/gcc folder? 

(I have no specific knowledge about android, but that's how it would generally work in a unix-alike shell)
