You haven't told us your version of IE (or for people with broken shift keys, ie). I have used an up-to-date IE6 successfully on XP and Windows 2000. There are known problems with Java and IE5.5. There are several other browsers you could use on Windows, with proper Java support.

i am using ie 6.0.2600.0000, on win2k sr1 with all the current paches installed. afaik this is the current version. things worked before i installed the java vm patch.
