scan; 1 items

HI

the scan function when only one item is read says:

scan()
1: 3.3
2:
Read 1 items
[1] 3.3

I hope my english is not playing a trick on me, but "1 items" sounds 
very strange
this makes me feel very anal, and it's really not important and I 
apologize for it but here it goes anyway
