Yes (and not stupid, and not easy to achieve). To do this relatively easily you need -- rw0640 (to be released today) -- xgobi.zip from the contrib collection for rw0640 on CRAN (since yesterday) -- XGobi for Windows, from http://www.stats.ox.ac.uk/pub/SWin -- An X server: see the above for free sources.
