don't draw legend in filled.contour plot

I don't have a solution, but just noticed that levelplot has a  
colorkey=FALSE mode that might solve the problem. The filled.contour  
help page suggests to me that you would need to alter the code of  
filled.contour to get what you want, but it appears to be an .Internal  
function.

I hope this will be an easy question to resolve, but I haven't been  
able to
find a way to hide a legend in a filled.contour plot. I've looked at  
the
filled.contour help file and Googled, but to no avail so far.

I'd appreciate any solutions to the problem.
