R on Sharp Zaurus 5500?

I see the Zaurus now has an X-server.

And the SL-5600 has even more memory.

Has anyone made any progress on getting R to run on this platform?

Someone has managed to get Octave going (in a mere 4Mb!)

Requires external memory, though, if I read correctly.
Anyone have access to the hardware?
If anyone wants to try, I'd expect that a no-graphics R would be
fairly simple to do (for a start), *provided* we can get past the NA
representation issue that bugged us on the Debian/ARM machines.

I do although I haven't done much with it.
