Hi again, Thanks for the tips on Xgobi. I'll try them. Now I have another question. There is a package (not submitted to CRAN yet), that I would like to use, but it has the extension .tar, so it's for Linux platforms am I rigth? Is it possible from those files to compile for Windows? Yes. Please read the manual 'Writing R Extensions' and the file '.../src/gnuwin32/readme.packages'. No. R source packages are for *all* platforms, and usually have a .tar.gz extension.
Is it possible from those files to compile for Windows?
However do you think the CRAN binary packages for Windows are created? This is covered in many places, for example the rw-FAQ.
