How to call data elements

Hi, 

I have a stupid and simple question. 
Please forgive me. 

In an example below, please tell me how to call  "1947" in mydata. 
Thank you in advance.

[1] "1947"    "83"      "234.289" "235.6"   "159"     "107.608" "1947"   
[8] "60.323"

assuming this is from a list

mydata[[1]][1]  

and 

mydata[[1]][7]

??
