please do not invest any time into RmSQL: nobody uses that (for good reasons)! It was a design study (nearly 3 years ago) and was good for that special issue.
Torsten: should we remove the package along with the 1.4 release then?
well, I expected this question and thought about it :-)
it is, technically, out of date in some way. but it is maintained and passes R CMD check and supports yet another db-system.
I feel that it should stay, but I can accept if you like to remove it from CRAN :-)
Your call.
Well, 1. maintained 2. passes R CMD check. + 3. mSQL not supported by RDBI for now. gives a definitve "stay in archive". (Is very nice for any new user to find her database usable.) detlef
