Error in the email: sorry about that. I've never used docker and installing it appears to require changing kernels which I'd rather not do. Is there any other way to get useful information? FYI I've tried installing r-base-core and got the same errors listed in my first email. thanks
You can also use a full VM to test instead of docker. Vagrant would be the easiest way to go down that route. It's starting to sound like you've got some backports that are the issue. Thanks, Alex
