Plugins for R and more...
Hi, Citing http://www.sciviews.org/_rgui/ : "gedit, the "standard" Gnome text editor also has a syntax highlighting feature for R code." So it seems like there is no real plugin. Regarding the Debian repositories: If you run unstable (sid), you don't need anything else. I you run lenny or oldstable (etch) I recommend the backports from CRAN, or, if you are already pinning, you can see how long it works without pulling in more packages from sid. Kind regards, Johannes * Petar Milin <pmilin at ff.uns.ac.rs> [090512 19:30]:
Hello! I saw this discussion regarding vim plugin for R and just wonder if there exists something similar for Gedit. I use Debian and I really like Gedit. I know a lot of plugins but not for R. Another thing is a bit stupid cause I know there has been discussion about repositories for R. I recently converted a friend from Windows to Debian and he is confused should he use: deb http://cran.at.r-project.org/bin/linux/debian/ lenny-cran/ or simply: deb http://http.us.debian.org/debian/ unstable main contrib non-free and then: apt-get -t unstable install r-<package> Thing is that I am a bit confused too, although I use apt-pinning (second option). Hence, what to advice? Best, PM
