Hi Dirk, To understand more about the error message, how would I have to properly interpret this error message. I checked my standard output obtained while executing ./configure command. It says, "checking for X... no" Thanks -Sathish

Tim already helped you with this. In essence, you just misread the error message. But you should not have to build this by hand unless you really need to (and know how to).
