This course is ideal for researchers in ecology, forestry, conservation, and environmental monitoring who want to gain both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in working with LiDAR data using R and the lidR package.
 
Participants will learn how to:

Understand core LiDAR principles and ecological applications

Process and classify point cloud data

Generate DTM, DSM, and CHM models

Extract tree- and pixel-level metrics (e.g., canopy height, biomass)

Use satellite LiDAR (GEDI) data and apply the Area-Based Approach
