Hi all!
I am fitting a GLMM to presence/absence data (family = binomial) from an acoustic telemetry study. I have two fixed effects (Year and Hour) in addition to one random effect (FishID). One of the fixed effects is continuous and the other is a factor. I am interested in generating partial residual plots for the fixed effects. My first question is whether a partial residual plot for a factor covariate makes sense? If it does, can anyone provide guidance on generating R code for creating such a plot. I found code (custom functions res.glmmML and fitted.glmmML) for creating the partial residual plot for my continuous covariate in the R code associated with Chapter 21 in Zuur et al's book, Mixed Effects Models and Extensions in Ecology with R, though I'm not sure how to modify it for a factor.
I would appreciate any assistance on this matter. Thank you for your time!
Best,
Laura
