Hello R-SIG-ECOLOGY members

Last chance - This seminar offers a comprehensive exploration of R programming for statistical and machine learning applications. R Programming for Statistics and Machine Learning is a 2-day seminar livestreaming March 27 with Nikolay Oskolkov (Group Leader (PI) at LIOS). This seminar explores R programming as an integrated toolkit for contemporary statistical inference and machine learning, emphasizing both theoretical foundations and practical implementation for reproducible research. Participants will learn to implement methods like penalised regression (LASSO), partial least squares, discriminant analysis, dimensionality reduction (PCA, tSNE, UMAP), and various clustering techniques in R. These advanced R programming skills are directly applicable for ecologists and environmental scientists analyzing complex, high-dimensional data, enabling robust model selection, feature engineering, and transparent reporting in their own research.

Sign up today (https://instats.org/seminar/r-programming-for-statistics-and-machine) to reserve your place before it starts, and feel free to circulate this with colleagues and students!

Best wishes
