Subject: Physalia Course Announcement: GIS Mapping and Spatial Analysis with R
Dear all,
We are pleased to announce the upcoming Physalia online course Using R as a GIS: Mapping and Spatial Operations in R, scheduled for 2 to 6 March.
Course website: [ https://www.physalia-courses.org/courses-workshops/gis-in-r/ ]( https://www.physalia-courses.org/courses-workshops/gis-in-r/ )
This course is designed for researchers and practitioners interested in spatial data analysis who wish to develop reproducible, script-based workflows in R.
Participants will gain a solid understanding of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) fundamentals, including cartographic projections and spatial data types, alongside practical skills to import, manage, and visualize spatial data in R. The course covers key vector and raster spatial operations, enabling automated mapping and spatial analyses of environmental and biodiversity data.
Live sessions will be held daily from 15:00 to 18:00 Berlin time, complemented by four hours of self-guided practical exercises with remote support available from 09:00 to 23:00 Berlin time to accommodate different time zones.
