Rstudio wiping files
IMPORTANT! Heads-up for F36 users: The issue is in Boost < 1.78 (probably < 1.77) with kernel >= 5.18.10. Therefore, if you are running this kernel, **do NOT use "Replace All" in RStudio's "Edit > Find in Files" functionality**, or you may lose files. Let's see if the RStudio people could provide a patch for this. For now, possible workarounds are 1) boot with an earlier kernel, which is not great, or 2) execute the newest RStudio from a F37-based toolbox, which is compiled against Boost 1.78 (see [1] for instructions). Flagging here for awareness. I've just had rstudio (desktop) wipe some of my files after using the find and replace functionality. The upstream bug report is at https://github.com/rstudio/rstudio/issues/11612.
Thanks for the heads-up, subscribed.
This was using the current build for F36 (I see F37 has a later version).
Yes, the new series (2022.07) requires Boost 1.78, which is in rawhide, but not in F36.
