Give me an hour or so, and I should be able to have the new and improved version out.
Please let us know when it will be available I have ~15 packages from Bioconductor to update with this version of R :)
I just finished submitting the update for R-2.8.0 for Fedora 8 and Fedora 9. Rawhide (aka, Fedora 10) has it already. Please test these new R packages and leave a "works-for-me" comment on the update if it works for you. :) F8: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/rpy-1.0.3-4.fc8,R-2.8.0-2.fc8 F9: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/rpy-1.0.3-4.fc9,R-2.8.0-2.fc9
Tom, just one more thing: I wonder if this bundling of R and rpy is fortunate. Most R users don't (AFAIK) use rpy, and won't be able to test whether it works.
Since rpy is tied so closely to R, we have to do them both at the same time or else rpy won't even install. On the plus side, rpy almost never breaks. Testing R is good enough for me to flip it to stable. :) ~spot
