connecting to IB via R
Indeed that is the likely problem. IBrokers uses the more robust sockets connection option from IB. Once you have that allowed, you should be good to go. You might also want to take a look at some of the introductory vignettes in the IBrokers package as well as the information from IB itself on the API - both will help tremendously IMO. Best, Jeff
