Danilo -- glad you were able to get everything working. Murali -- thanks for chiming in with help. Marco -- unfortunately, Bloomberg does not provide a desktop client for Linux. I run Bloomberg in a Windows virtual machine, on Mac at home and Ubuntu at work. It's not ideal, as most configurations like this also require R to run in the VM to access Bloomberg, but nevertheless I believe this is a fairly standard setup. John

I can run the command: "library(Rbloomber)", and no error message
appears.
However the command "conn <- blpConnect()" does not work. The console
simply freezesand I have to kill R.
I am still using R.12.1 with a functioning Rbloomberg and I am deeply
thankful to he developpers/maitainers.

A 32-bit RBloomberg build for R 2.14.0 has been posted. It can be
installed by the usual process:
install.packages("RBloomberg", repos = "http://r.findata.org")
