Linux based programs
There have been other answers, this one is meant to complement them. R is remarkably similar under all platforms. In particular I routinely move files of R objects created with 'save' between platforms. Dear all, I was also wondering is there any advantage using R on Linux vs. Windows? One friend told me that I might pick up the use of R on Linux, since some financial firms are using R in that platform. But what I want to know is, in terms of learning language, what is the difference b/t doing in tow platforms? Thanks very much!
