RDCOMClient libarary compatibility

Hi,

I have gone to http://www.omegahat.org/RDCOMClient/, I have downloaded the
binary, and installed it through InstallPackage(s)FromLocal Zipfiles. but I
get the same error message as Jonathan. BTW, that web page was last modified
on 2003, and at least in the last minutes, the README.html and INSTALL.html
files are "not found".

Does anybody know what can we do about it? I also would like to learn how to
download data from Bloomberg using the RDCOMClient. Is there somebody else
who has tried that already?

Cheers

Jordi

If you include omegahat in your repository using the Package menu
at the top of RGui then you can just pick out RDCOMClient from
the list. I do not use it with Bloomberg and have not seen this problem
on my XP system but if you are stuck one possibility is to use the rcom
package instead. The package and its mailing list are at the
following respectively:

http://sunsite.univie.ac.at/rcom/download/
http://mailman.csd.univie.ac.at/mailman/listinfo/rcom-l

There is a new version of rcom that only works on R 2.2+ which
has syntax that is very close to RDCOMClient and an older
version that works on R 2.1 but whose syntax differs somewhat.
