New package for R-GRASS interface
Since GRASS 8 has been released (current is 8.2), continuing calling the interface package "rgrass7" is misleading. In any case, rgrass7 suggests rgdal, which is nearing retirement. So rgrass has been created, and reached CRAN today. rgrass7 also works with GRASS 8, but will be archived when rgdal retires. The new rgrass package now uses terra classes for data transfer. There is a new vignette showing how to coerce from and to SpatRaster and SpatVector to make adaptation easier. A second vignette describes various modes of use of the interface package.
