Read statement in R advanced

Hello everybody

I have an excel file with 412 rows and about 15 variables , i need to
perform the same suite of processes on the variables
one after the other( these are long processes taking a lot of time)

I have encoded missing data for each column as "NA" and the spatial data for
each of the variable

separately as X1, Y1, X2, Y2  so that there is 1-1 correspondence between
coordinates and variables each time i use it.

However when i read it into R it gives me an error saying that the number of
rows and spatial data points.

I want to assign the spatial points to *coordinates(file)=~Xi+Yi*  command
and can anyone tell me is there

anyway to tell R about missing data in each case. Any advice appreciated.
