Inverse distance weighted with binomial data set

Dear colleges,

          There are any limitation for used the inverse distance 
weighted (IDW) for presence-absence data set, when the objective is 
create a map similar with indicator kriging (IK) approach? I don't no if 
is a trivial question but the idea is comparing both approaches.
