Issues with spatial package "sits" on CRAN

Dear all,

As a follow-up to Roger?s message, I have been tracking CRAN checks on package ?terra?. Turns out that flavours "r-devel-linux-x86_64-debian-clang? and "r-devel-linux-x86_64-debian-gcc? were reporting errors when checking an earlier version of ?terra? (1.7-37). As of today, "r-devel-linux-x86_64-debian-gcc? has checked the latest version (1.7-39) without errors.

So, Roger was right: there was a cascade effect because "r-devel-linux-x86_64-debian-cland? was checking the previous version of ?terra?. The problem is likely to fix itself in the next days, when it is likely that "r-devel-linux-x86_64-debian-clang? will switch to version 1.7-37.

That said, spare a thought from CRAN developers. Their work is extraordinary.

Best
Gilberto
