Have a look at the classInt package, it has functions for various classification algorithms, including jerks.

I need to make an automatic classification of values by the method of
"natural break" or percentiles of an image. tiff or spatialgrid, R is
possible, that package might do the job or in what form it might do (I've
asked before but not I got info)
