Leader lines for inset map
Hi Vladimir, I'm sure, R is very versatile software, but it sounds really insane to me to try to do sth like your examples in R (If you haven't got to do this hundreds of times with different maps) Map compositions are a matter of graphics programs or even better a Desktop GIS, like QGIS for example. In QGIS, this would be a matter of just adding two composer frames, legend(s) and some lines drawn by hand. "Coding" a layout seems not really reasonable when you can also drag and drop the items in a matter of minutes. Just my 2 cents Bernd Am 01.11.2014, 21:03 Uhr, schrieb Vladimir <sendmeoffer at gmail.com>:
Hello list! I would like to add leader lines to my inset maps. These lines connect the frame of the inset map with the corresponding area on the main map. Good examples are here [1], [2], or here [3]. What is the most convenient R approach to do so? Kind regards, Vladimir. --- [1] http://gce-lter.marsci.uga.edu/public/images/gce_study_area_blowup_nov07_rev.jpg [2] http://pubs.usgs.gov/fs/fs08203/images/study_area.gif [3] http://www.innovativegis.com/basis/supplements/bm_dec_02/Ironing_Colorado_files/image004.jpg
