I am bit confuse "interpolation <- interpolate(observations=xyz, # I think
you have to rename
your "z" field to "value" " in your answer observations =xyz, but it must be
raster isnot it? it complains
"Error in (function (classes, fdef, mtable) :
unable to find an inherited method for function 'interpolate' for
signature '"data.frame"'.
