any way to prompt users for information?
Denis, If you are trying to do this within the context of using PBSmapping, you might want to check out the PBSmodelling package as well since it includes facilities to write dialog boxes using simple text files. Plus, it is a Geo related package so it makes it appropriate for this list ;-). Dan

Michael, I intended to ask this to the R Help list, but I was careless in filling the address of my message, I apologise. Your suggestion does not work on Mac OS X, unfortunately. It allowed me to search further, and I found this: http://finzi.psych.upenn.edu/R/Rhelp02a/archive/84306.html Unfortunately, I got a syntax error with this example. I'll try to read a bit about tcl to see why this is so. Denis Le 06-10-17 ? 20:45, Michael Sumner a ?crit :
I think this question would be more appropriately asked on R-help. But,
I am hoping there is a way to make a simple text window pop up with my question in it, and the cursor placed ready for the user to type his answer.
winDialogString("One lump or two?", "")
Cheers, Mike.
