Using SJava?
Another way to go is to embed R in other applications. I stumbled on JUMP (http://www.vividsolutions.com/jump/) the other day. Looks like the dawn of quality open source GIS is around the corner. T.

I also think that we could ask him for advice if we discussed it first here. What do others think?
