Snow depth raster for Finland

Dear All,

Does anyone of you know where I could find raster images of snow depth
over Finland, for the past 30 years ? (!)
Or at least the raw data so that I could try computing those rasters ?

Best regards

Alex

Hi Alex,

The National Snow and Ice Data Centre has tonnes of data for snow, swe (snow
water equivalent), and ice for most of the northern hemisphere:
http://nsidc.org/index.html

In particular, have a look at the Global Monthly EASE-Grid datasets. I think
the go as far back as the 70s, though there is likely some playing around to
do to get things playing together nicely. I've used the Passive
Microwave remotely sensed data for swe research in the past.

Hope that helps,

Carson
