Dear all,

I'm using the joincount.test function in the spdep package to test for the
presence of spatial autocorrelation in a nominal variable.
Given that I'm doing this analysis for a paper I'm currently working on, I
would need a reference that explains the logic behind the join-count
model.
The reference given in the spdep manual is "Cliff, A. D., Ord, J. K. 1981
Spatial processes". Unfortunatelly I do not have this book available at the
moment.

Are there any other references (preferably journal articles) which I could
cite in this context to explain the basics behind the join-count test?
I would be very grateful for any references you could send me - and even
more if you happen to have the pdf of the respective articles which you
could e-Mail to me.
