Most MODIS products use the Sinusoidal projection with the WGS84 datum for gridded output. There is a reprojection tool (Java-based, IIRC) available: https://lpdaac.usgs.gov/lpdaac/tools/modis_reprojection_tool HTH, Thomas Juntunen MGIS Program University of Minnesota
