Robert,

Could you make the output of sampleRandom() to optionally be an
spatial points data frame with the raster values across bands in the
table?
(I know it can be done currently through cells=T etc, but it would be
handy having the sppdf directly)
BTW, having row,col in addition to cell number would be handy as well
