R and mpicc

Hi,

has anyone experience with compiling R (R-2.9.2) with mpicc?

Due to our hardware architecture (altix) we have to compile R with mpicc 
and than include Rmpi. Compiling R with gcc and than including Rmpi is 
not working with the altix.mpi version.

Unfortunately the R version compiled with mpicc is about 3-5 times 
slower than the R version compiled with gcc! Any ideas for that?
