Problem installing Rmpi on SuSE 64 bit system: does compile but does not load

The undefined symbol you are seeing should be being found within the OpenMPI libraries. It is possible that the shell(s) that get invoked for the testing are not getting the full OpenMPI environment set when running Rmpi. Kevin
