[1] 49 58 75 Top line (sourced in from selection in editor) seems to add weird characters that causes the syntax error. "v1" is not defined after that. By hand it works fine (of course!). Below my output to try and use binary and source package install.
this is a problem due to NA subsettings, no more allowed in 2.0.0 I've committed a fix so it would be fine for the release version of R. Thanks for spotting stefano
