OSX 3.3.4 built binary source package fails on OSX 2.8
The R.bin was compiled under 10.3 and tries to toad symbols from libSystem which are not there in 10.2. There is no simple solution. In general, R compiled on Panther does not run on Jaguar. So you either downgrade or upgrade.
