unexpected input

Thanks Mark, the culprit was indeed .Rprofile

I did previously inspect this file but did not cross my mind it would cause
that error, as it contains a single line to load a package at startup.
Deleted the file, re-create it with the same command and it works now.
Cannot explain why it previously triggered the error, just glad I'm back on
track.
