R 2.13, 2.14 on an older G4

I've been having the same problem with my G5, but haven't had time to
figure out what's going wrong.
Maybe something changed between 2.12 and 2.13 in the way that R.app
handles user input?

I rather hope that there can be ?a simple fix for this as I use older G4?s
in the classroom; this one is a 1.33 GHz PowerPC G4 with OS 10.5.8.

R 2.13, 2.14 work perfectly in a Terminal window. The GUI also works until
there is a syntax error, then it hangs with the spinning disk. Looks like it
is trying to find the error message but can?t. Wasn?t a problem with 2.12.2.
