Undo/Redo in GUI
Some time ago I promised to look into this issue. With Cocoa's undo mechanism it is indeed not hard to solve, but for R.app it turns out a proper solution will take significant work - R Console and other windows should all become 'proper' windows. If not, undo/redo in the menu bar will get very confused. Hence, at least for now, it will remain as Ben describes (redo to the rescue :-), sorry about that, Rob

The behaviour of Undo/Redo in GUI right now indeed seems to be all-or-nothing. Got an idea how to fix that - I'll give it a try.

Using the Mac GUI, R version 2.0.1 (as well as 2.0.0), the undo command undoes way too much. I have had times where I was editing code, made a typo, unconsciously hit undo, and saw the entire document disappear. Other times it goes back to what looks like the state when I opened the file during the current session. Thankfully the redo command works, but this scares me every time it happens, my peace of mind would be helped by making the undo command a bit less aggressive. My apologies if this is a known issue.
