ftp://gifi.stat.ucla.edu/pub/R-1.5.0 The atlas-based R (with gnome) is now in R-1.5.0.tar.gz. It is optimized for a G4 (in fact a dual 1Mhz machine). You may not see great gains on other machines. Packages are reorganized in directories, with package foo in a file foo.tar.gz. Observe that the ftpd on gifi is wuftpd, which means you can say in your ftp client "get OmegaHat.tar.gz" and this will package the directory OmegaHat and download all files in that directory. The base packages are already in R.tar.gz, so I eliminated them from the contributed directory. This new setup makes it easier to see what has been changed or added, and you can still download things in bunches. In fact, if you move to pub and say "get R-1.5.0.tar.gz" you will download everything. There are now 180 packages.
