compiling the package timereg on mac os x

Dear R-SIG-Mac,

today I spent some time trying to compile the Semi-parametric
Timevarying Regression R-package ?timereg" (by Thomas Scheike) on Mac
OS X. The package is not on CRAN, but available from
http://staff.pubhealth.ku.dk/~ts/timereg.html

Maybe helpful for someone I posted on http://tinyurl.com/26gqmx  what
I did to get it working.
