<ESC> causes R.app to freeze

Hi folks, I've perused the list archives, but alas... I'm using R 2.6.2 with GUI 1.23 on a dual G5 Mac. Hitting <ESC> immediately after launch (and at any other point besides) causes R to freeze (spinning beach ball of death) with accompanying spike in processor activity. Crash log upon force quitting indicates that R.app hangs on kernel task AlignAssist, though I don't have the foggiest notion how this relates. Have not been able to reproduce this error using console R. Any suggestions much appreciated.

Please update to the most current GUI from http://r.research.att.com/ which solves the problem (it was also discussed on R-SIG-Mac yesterday). Thanks, Simon
