Copy/paste bug in R 3.6.1, OS 10.15.2

Highlight text and copy (right click, keyboard or edit menu) in first
source file window.
Paste text (right click, keyboard or edit menu) into same source file
window, works fine
Paste text (right click, keyboard or edit menu) into second source file
window, spinning cursor appears, application hangs
Have tried restarting R, killing pboard executable, no change in behavior.
