bug in RQuartz?

There appears to be a retain/release error somewhere in the RQuartz 
device. Occasionally graphics devices will become detached from the R 
representation of the device causing a crash. Haven't tracked down the 
source but it seems to come up eventually under heavy graphics usage 
(but only even a single device).
