Hi, I've reported the following error to Graham Williams, the author/ maintainer of Rattle: I am running Rattle 2.5.24 under R 2.10.1 patched on a MacBook Pro with OS X 10.5.8. I have installed it successfully and it is giving good results; however, from time to time when I click the Execute button I receive this message on the R console: (R:2190): Gtk-WARNING **: Unable to find default local directory monitor type What does this mean, and how can I solve the problem? I also cannot print a graphic using the Print button at the bottom. I see a message at the bottom of the Rattle window that it is printing to lpr, but nothing happens. I am connected to a network printer. He replied: I don't have any experience running on the Mac and don;t know what the "monitor" refers to. I think it relates to the file chooser. The printing is a separate problem. Do you have a command line lpr command? Any idea how you might usually print from R on the Mac? I may need to fix Rattle for printing on the Mac. Perhaps somebody with more experiencing running R or Rattle on a Mac can help? The Gtk error message does indeed seem to have something to do with the file chooser. Thanks, Richard Richard R.
